Mavericks Show Some Life

Well, wasn't that a fun game last night. Who needs Six Flags? From 21 points up in the second quarter to down nine with about three and half minutes to go to winning by six. If that doesn't fit the roller coaster definition, I'm not sure what does.

The good news for the Mavs is that Dirk woke up and realized that he actually need to take and make some shots for his team to win. What we saw over the last three and a half minutes is what it is going to take over the next two games for their playoff run to continue.

We also saw the Warriors meltdown again. In the last minute, two guys fouled out and one got ejected. They are a team of thugs, and it would be very painful to see them advance at all - much less at our expense.

So, what do we know after five games? Not much. Expect the Mavs to come out swinging tomorrow, but fasten your seatbelt. It promises to be a bumpy ride regardless.

Until next time...

I have to agree P. I don't know what to take out of last night's win. The Mavs blew a 21 point lead but GS blew a 9 point lead late. If Golden State makes 1 or 2 baskets over the last 3 minutes the game changes tremendously and maybe the Mavs turn it into a free throw shooting contest. However, Golden State melted down which allowed the Mavs to keep playing normally.

I hope the refs become a non factor the rest of way out. GS got hosed on a few calls (this from a lifelong Mavs fan) especially with Dirk fouling that guy on the 3 pointer. If it's a foul in the first qtr it should be in the 4th. (can you imagine the end with that guy shooting 3 FT's and the Mavs get the ball) Did the refs lose the game for GS or win it for the Mavs NO! but I still wish they wouldn't try and be so visible in the game. If GS gets hosed at the Mavs house what happens in Game 6 when it's at GS?

All conspiracy theories aside, I didn't see much from either team. The Mavs blew a big lead, GS overcame a big lead. GS blew a decent lead late, and the Mavs overcame a decent lead late. I guess we'll have to buckle in and watch game 6 to see how Game 5 really played out. And yes GS could also be called Thuggish Ruggish Bone!
